Welcome

Hello and thanks for stopping by! I’m Shannon, a stay-at-home homeschooling mama of five, fiber lover, mediocre cut-flower gardener, and beginner sheep farmer in Upstate New York.

Fiber + Phlox is the result of my desire to more neatly document my creative endeavors: the intentions, the design, the processes, the failures as well as the successes, in the garden, at the loom, on my needles, in the field… all part of my daily life in Upstate New York.

My hope is that as I share the process of the work of my hands, I will be able to share finished handwoven heirloom products in my shop as well. As much as I would love to keep every blanket, scarf, and towel I weave (and I truly do love each and every one of them!) it’s not exactly practical.

One of our newest additions is a small flock of Romney sheep… I’m so excited to have a little fiber flock with wool for spinning, knitting, and weaving rugs and can’t wait to share as I learn to process wool, nose to tail!
